What is Writile?™

Hi everyone, here’s a quick overview of Writile™, our new tool for assessing student writing. It breaks writing into six key domains—like purpose, organization, style, and conventions—with a genre-specific fifth domain such as reasoning or narrative technique. Each area is scored 0–10 across detailed subskills, giving teachers clearer feedback and next steps. Writile™ combines these into a single index score (100–1000) and adds objective, nationally normed metrics like syntactic complexity, vocabulary diversity (MTLD), prompt match, cohesion, and basic fluency stats. It turns writing growth into visible, actionable insight.
