The Writile Benchmark Infrastructure works by connecting authentic writing over time into a single, continuous system.
It does not introduce new tests, prompts, or instructional requirements. It organizes writing that already exists.
WORKS
How the Infrastructure
Writing Enters the System
Students produce writing as part of normal instruction across subjects and years.
Those writing samples are collected through controlled data-collection and implementation layers designed to preserve authenticity, continuity, and context.
Writing enters the system as it is, where it is produced.
Signals Are Built Over Time
As writing accumulates, the infrastructure generates longitudinal signals based on patterns within a student’s own work.
Two signals are produced:
Writing growth – A continuous view of how writing develops over time.
Authorship integrity – A probability-based signal grounded in the student’s historical writing profile.
These signals strengthen as more writing enters the system.
The System Persists
The infrastructure is designed to remain stable across:
Grade transitions
Course changes
Schools and districts
Instructional models and platforms
The benchmark travels with the writing, not the program.
Outputs Are System-Level
The Writile Benchmark Infrastructure produces signals that can be used at all levels without changing local practice.
It supports analysis, research, and decision-making without dictating instruction or assessment.
Local work remains local.
System-level understanding becomes possible.
